Day 1: SIEM REAP- Arrival
Dinner
Arrive at Siem Reap International Airport and transfer to hotel (rooms may not be ready until the afternoon).
Visit Prasat Kravan, east-facing brick towers containing unique bas-reliefs of Vishnu and Lakshmi rendered in brick – the only example of brick bas-reliefs in the Angkor area. Visit Ta Prohm, quiet, sprawling monastic complex is only partially cleared of jungle overgrowth. Intentionally left partially un-restored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow from the towers and corridors offering some of the best ‘tree-in-temple’ photo opportunities. Also visit Takeo (Constructed under three kings, begun by Jayavarman V as his state-temple and continued under Jayaviravarman and Suryavarman I), Chau Say Tevoda (a small temple of similar design and floor plan to that of Thomanon) and Thommanon (attractive temple in very good condition, built at the same time as Angkor Wat).

Visit Preah Khan, built by the King Jayavarman VII, It was the centre of a substantial organization, with almost 100,000 officials and servants, visit Neak Pean, a fountain (built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake) was originally designed for medical purposes, as it is one of the many hospitals that Jayavarman VII built. Visit temple of Ta Som , a small, classic Bayon-style monastic complex consisting of a relatively flat enclosure, face tower gopuras and cruciform interior sanctuaries much like a miniature version of Ta Prohm. Visit Srah Srang ("The Royal Baths").

Day 2: SIEM REAP

Morning; visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat,  it is generally the first one seen. Built by Suryavaman II during the first half of the 12th century. Angkor Wat’s artistic and archaeological significance and visual impact put it in a class with the Pyramids, Machu Pichu and the Taj Mahal.

Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate, a big gate with an arch and surmounted by a tower, or gopuram, are the access to the city of Jayavarman VII, visit Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers) great city built in the 12th century by Jayavarmant VII which has more than 200 enormous mysterious faces. Return to Phnom Bakheng Mountain for Sunset

Day 3: SIEM REAP

Early departure to Banteay Srei temple (10th century) translate to ‘citadel of the women,’ but this is modern appellation that probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. It displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art. Visit the floating village of Chhong Khneas on Tonle Sap Lake, the Great Lake of Cambodia, one of the wonders of Asia.

Visit “Les Artisans d’Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles” of Siem Reap and time at leisure at the local market .
Dinner with Apsara Dance Show at local restaurant and overnight at hotel.
Day 4: SIEM REAP-BATTAMBANG

Breakfast at hotel.
Option 1 – From mid July to mid January
Travel by private boat to Battambang. Along the way we will stop at floating village of Prek Tuol & Chhong Khneas , Cheur Khmao pagoda, “Black Wood Pagoda”.
Picnic lunch on board (supplement). Continue to Battambang. On arrival transfer to hotel.
Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.

Option 2 – From mid January to mid July

Depart from Siem Reap to Battambang via Sisophon by overland. Visit the Khmer silk village of Phnom Srok or “the little hill”.
Lunch at local restaurant in Sisophon (supplement).
Continue to Battambang. Arrive in Battambang town and transfer to hotel.
In the afternoon relax at the hotel.
Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.
Day 5: BATTAMBANG
Breakfast/Dinner
After breakfast transfer by tuk tuk to the Bamboo Train station. The Bamboo train has been set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and persons. The train in itself is very basic. One platform on 4 wheels activated by a small motor. Sitting on the platform you will travel the 8 kms to the next station through beautiful landscape and rice fields. On arrival, visit the village and discover the daily life of the Cambodian countryside. Stop at a workshop specialized in wooden sculpture. Continue to the local NGO (non governmental organization) “La Maison de Coco” and to the city center with its beautiful houses dating from the colonial time.

Drive to Phnom Bannon Hill. Climb the 337 steps to reach Prasat Bannon temple dating back to the 12th century and relish the breathtaking view over the surrounding plains.

Day 6: BATTAMBANG-PHNOM PENH
Breakfast/Dinner
After breakfast, depart Battambang for Phnom Penh by overland transfer (290 km, 4-5 hours drive). Stop in Pursat to view the Stone Carvings.

Then continue to visit Kompong Chhnang to see the pottery village. Visit the floating village with private boat at Krar Kor. Arrive in Phnom Penh, and check-in at the hotel.

Day 7: PHNOM PENH

Breakfast at hotel.
Phnom Penh city tour: Visit the Victory Monument, and the National Museum, dedicated by King Sisowath in 1920. Over 5000 objects are on display including Angkorian era statues, lingas and other artifacts, most notably the legendary statue of the ‘Leper King.’. Visit the Royal Palace, situated on the site of the former Citadel, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the banks of the Mekong River and visit Silver Pagoda, also called the Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha, located in the compound of the Royal Palace. Inside, the palace floor is laid with 5000 silver blocks. End your morning with a visit to the Wat Phnom Temple, symbol of the Phnom Penh capital which was built in 1434 to house the sacred relics the notorious.

Depart to visit Killing Fields of Choeung Ek (16 km south of Phnom Penh) many of the dead ended up in various ‘Killing fields’ that can be found scattered across the country. Visit the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum (S21 prison) this former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge and finish your visit at the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong) a lively outdoor market. Then enjoy Sunset Cruise by locally built boat on the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers.

Day 8: PHNOM PENH-SIHANOUKVILLE

Overland transfer from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, 226 km, excellent road, 3 to 3 ½ hours drive (rooms may not be ready until the afternoon).
Arrive in Sihanoukville and check in at hotel (hotel not included). Release driver/guide (Please check the beach stay price in separate sheet).
Day 9 ONWARD: BEACH STAY
